Content, IP & Data Return Must Be Specific
The China Copyright Law provides that rights not expressly licensed or transferred cannot be exercised without the copyright owner’s consent, and it requires key licensing and transfer terms to be specified. Use that discipline in the exit schedule: distinguish original works, localized materials, raw files, ongoing brand use, and post-term archives.
Request and verify
- Original and localized content inventories
- Raw footage, project files, subtitle/dubbing assets, and final exports
- Usage-rights and brand-license schedule
- Analytics, CRM, campaign, moderation, and support exports
Define the post-exit rule
- Which existing posts remain live and for how long
- Who may reuse edits, subtitles, or likeness in paid media
- Whether work in progress is completed, transferred, or stopped
- Data return/deletion, backups, access revocation, and certification
