SAIKO is currently not supporting new Douyin account launches. The barrier is real-name verification: for overseas creators who rely on a foreign passport, we cannot currently offer a reliable verification process or complete it on their behalf.
This is our current service position as of October 22, 2026. If you are planning a China launch with SAIKO, please do not include a new Douyin account as a confirmed deliverable.
Why passport verification is a barrier
Under the verification conditions we currently work with, a foreign passport alone is not a dependable route to Douyin real-name verification. This prevents us from offering a supported onboarding process for passport-only overseas creators.
Douyin’s official user agreement requires real-identity authentication for functions including publishing videos and starting livestreams. Registering or accessing an account therefore does not by itself establish that a creator can publish through it.
The official privacy policy also describes identity checks for services such as livestreaming, withdrawals and commerce. These checks can require identity-document details and facial information, depending on the service.
These official sources establish the verification requirements. They do not publish a universal ban on foreign passports or establish how many foreign creators are affected. Our pause reflects the verification barrier in our current onboarding workflow; it should not be read as a claim that every foreign national is barred from Douyin.
Planning your China launch
Speak with us about a launch focused on Bilibili or Xiaohongshu instead. We will check account eligibility and verification requirements before confirming the platform scope.
We will revisit Douyin support when we can confirm a reliable verification route for the creators we serve. Until then, Douyin onboarding remains paused.
